The Facts:
Amid ongoing criticism that his playing style exposes him to an unnecessary risk of injury, Vick made a promise to Eagles fans during a Friday appearance on The Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fan in Philadelphia. “I want to make a promise to all my fans that I’m going to make a conscious effort, a cognitive effort, to make sure that I protect myself,” Vick said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio notes, since entering the NFL in 2001, Vick has appeared in all 16 games only once, during his final season with the Falcons in 2006. Five years later, in his first season as the full-time starter in Philadelphia, Vick missed three games due to injury. Florio went on to suggest that one way for Vick to protect himself would be to learn how to slide. But more to the point, Vick just needs to play smarter, knowing when to throw the ball away or hit the deck in the pocket and when to run out of bounds or when to hit the ground instead of taking big hits from defenders. Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming off an excellent offseason -- the first full offseason of Vick's tenure as the starting quarterback. It would appear things are lined up to go his way. He just has to stay healthy.
