Monday marked the day that Washington Redskins' rookies are supposed to report for the first training camp of their professional careers but Griffin was absent according to Alex Parker of ABC7 in Arlington, Virginia. Redskins officials told Parker that most every other rookie that was expected to arrive for camp Monday showed up.

Griffin has yet to arrive for or sign a contract with the team with just more than a week until training camp kicks into high gear. According to Profootballtalk.com's Mike Floro, Griffin has said that he wants to have a deal in place today. One of the impediments has been the inclusion of offset language, which would reduce his guaranteed money in the unlikely event he gets released at some point in the next four years and signs with another NFL team. Per Florio, there’s no reason for the Redskins to refuse to guarantee the full amount of the contract. Given what Griffin means to the team, they’re highly unlikely to dump him without giving him four years to become the best quarterback they’ve had in at least 27. ... Stay tuned.
