The Facts:
The 4 p.m. eastern deadline for NFL teams to sign players currently not under contract has come and gone without Bowe getting a long-term deal.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As a result, Bowe will play this season for a one-year franchise tender of about $9.4 million and the Chiefs won’t be able to sign him to a long-term contract until after the season. The Chiefs could elect to use the franchise tag on Bowe again following this season, but it would cost the club more money. Bowe was absent at the Chiefs’ offseason workouts and mini-camp but has said he will arrive on time at training camp, which starts July 27. The Chiefs finished mini-camp with 12 wide receivers, nine of which were in their first or second NFL season. Their main receivers, other than Bowe, are Jonathan Baldwin, Steve Breaston, Dexter McCluster and Terrance Copper. The Chiefs this spring drafted two receivers, Devon Wylie of Fresno State in the fourth round and Junior Hemingway of Michigan in the seventh. An undrafted rookie, Josh Bellamy of Louisville, has also showed some ability in practice.
