Santonio Holmes Not On Board With 2 QB System
(7/16 10:54 PT)

The Facts:
The Jets have a designated starting QB, Mark Sanchez, and a back-up QB, Tim Tebow, they plan also to get on the field. In the context of Tebow receiving a set amount of plays a game -- Rex Ryan has said he could be on the field for as many as 20 snaps -- Holmes was asked on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access" if he thinks a two-quarterback system can work. His answer: "No." Reported by the Newark Star-Ledger

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"I don’t think so," Holmes further explained. "Because you have to allow one QB to get into the rhythm of the game. It starts from the preparation in practice, knowing the first couple of plays that he’s going to take these reps. It’s getting a feel for coming onto the field with the crowd awaiting you. It’s the making the mistakes early in the game, to finishing the games at the end. You don’t just change a guy out just because he has a few mistakes early in a game. So I think coming into this season that we have a lot to expect from Sanchez. ..." Holmes and Sanchez were at the center of last season's fractured locker room storyline that came to a head in the Week 17 finale at Miami, when Holmes was benched for the final minutes of the game after fighting with a teammate. Last week on "The Rich Eisen Podcast," former teammate LaDainian Tomlinson suggested that Holmes could be a source of tension this year if the Jets aren't throwing the ball enough and Holmes isn't getting enough catches. Holmes said he did not disagree with Tomlinson on one level, because he is a playmaker whom the team needs to get the ball to each week. ... Can't wait to see how it all plays out.
