Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
There has been some buzz suggesting Murphy -- a speedy and dangerous deep threat when healthy -- faced a battle to secure a roster spot in Oakland with the emergence of Denarius Moore as a legitimate threat opposite Darrius Heyward-Bey. This after undrafted rookie Rod Streater and fifth-round pick Juron Criner made their presence felt during OTAs and mini-camp work. In Carolina, Murphy joins a receiving corps led by Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell and David Gettis, who is returning from a torn ACL. Seems like Murphy might have a better chance of gaining traction in his new home -- if he stays healthy. Injuries have a been a limiting factor to his point in his career. Murphy caught 41 passes for 609 yards and two TDs while appearing in 14 games in 2010. He was limited to 15 catches while appearing in 11 games last season.
