Shell was hired for his second stint as Raiders coach Friday night, one day after Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Louisville's Bobby Petrino became the latest candidates to tell the team they didn't want the job. ... Shell had a 54-38 regular-season record in a previous stint as Oakland's head coach, leading them to the AFC championship game following the 1990 season.
