In a plea deal that ensures he will avoid jail time if he fulfills the terms of the sentence, Blackmon had his lawyer plead guilty for him.

Blackmon did not attend the hearing. He was sentenced to a fine of $500 and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service. Should those terms be met, then the commuted sentence that would agreed to will not include jail time. It seems likely that the Jaguars will use this to try and place some protection for themselves in his contract to protect themselves going forward. Blackmon has still not signed his rookie deal but with this now behind him, things will likely begin to move forward on that front.
