In spite of what Willie McGinest said on the NFL Network yesterday, Paola Boivin says that there is a favorite among the coaches at quarterback and that person is Kolb.

McGinest made the point yesterday that he felt the locker room was falling behind John Skelton and said several players on the team had alluded to that. The reality of the situation is that Skelton will have to outplay Kolb by a good margin to be the opening day starter. That's not going to be an easy task as both quarterbacks are looking good at this point. Also, fairly or not, head coach Ken Whisenhunt will always be tied to Kolb. The player’s success or failure will reflect on the coach. It’s hard to imagine Kolb won’t walk away with the starting job but Skelton appears to be doing everything necessary to prepare in case the unlikely happens.
