The team retained a fifth-year option on him but there was offset language in the contract. It is thought that an extra $110,000 above his slotted value was included as a trade-off for that to be there. Tannehill had been working out at IMG in Bradenton, Florida, so he only has a three-hour drive to reach training camp. He's not expected to be a starter as the season kicks off, but it would be surprising if he didn't get some starts later in the season. Only Kendall Wright and Justin Blackmon remain among the first-round draft picks to sign their rookie contracts.
