The Facts:
Vinatieri will be a free agent March 3 unless the team opts to apply the franchise tag to him again this year, as they did in 2005. Vinatieri doesn't know their plan. "I haven't heard a word about anything," Vinatieri said. "I figure it will be one of those things where, when they know, I'll know."
