The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... Don't count out Moreno just yet. ... On the fifth day of Broncos training camp, the former first-round pick was cleared to rejoin full-squad drills.
Reported by the Denver Post
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Moreno, who had surgery to repair a torn ACL on Dec. 1, ran second behind starter Willis McGahee in 11-on-11 team drills Monday morning. Moreno had been limited to 7-on-7 passing sessions and individual drills in the first few days of camp. ... According to Post staffer Lindsay Jones, McGahee is clearly the Broncos' No. 1 RB, but the depth chart has been murky behind him, with Moreno, veteran Lance Ball, and rookie third-round pick Ronnie Hillman fighting for snaps behind him. Other running backs in camp include Jeremiah Johnson, Mario Fannin and Xavier Omon, each of whom was on the Broncos roster in some fashion in 2011. ... We're still on the
Hillman bandwagon (definitely as the change-of-pace back and perhaps as more) while Moreno still has much to prove and not just in terms of health. But that's certainly a starting point for him and we'll be watching for more.
