The Facts:
The Jaguars are counting on an upgraded receiving corps to help QB Blaine Gabbert improve their passing offense this season. In the first two days of practice, Gabbert did his part, and HC Mike Mularkey said of the receivers, “We’ve got to do a better job. We’ve got to make more catches." It doesn’t help that rookie Justin Blackmon, their top draft pick, is holding out (and that TE Marcedes Lewis isn't in the best of shape). But Robinson, who signed a five-year, $32.5 million free agent deal, has yet to get in a groove. “He’s got to make some plays. Maybe he’s pressing. I’m not sure,” Mularkey said of Robinson.

The coach went on to explaine: “I know [Robinson] knows [that he’s got to make more plays]. Heck, he’s been around the league a long time, and he knows he’s got make a play. Sometimes, you press. He’ll come around. ... All he has to do is make one, and they’ll come in bunches. ...” He apparently didn't make much improvement on Monday, however; Gabbert hit just one of 12 attempts during the morning practice. We'll go ahead and admit to considerable skepticism about Gabbert's prospects for improvement. We've also
expressed similar sentiments about Robinson, who only has one solid season as a pro under his belt. Have we mentioned the Jaguars really need to get Maurice Jones-Drew
back in the fold?
