Mendenhall suffered a torn ACL in January and a successful rehab hinges on his ability to cut and take hits. "It's hard to say, as far as percentage or how much I'm pushing things, but everything that we've done so far ... has been successful," Mendenhall said. "So just taking steps as we go along. ..." Given his uncertain timetable, Mendenhall seems to be heading for the physically unable to perform list (PUP), which would sideline him for the season's first six weeks. In the meantime, Isaac Redman is first in line to pick up the slack.
