Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Various reports put the total price at over $1 billion. Haslam is the president and CEO of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers in North America. Haslam has been a minority investor in the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2008. Browns owner Randy Lerner issued a statement that he was in negotiations with the businessman Friday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, NFL ownership is expected to approve the purchase at their October meeting. Mike Holmgren confirmed after Lerner's announcement that a controlling stake of the Browns was being discussed. He also said that the team would not leave Cleveland -- although Holmgren's long-term future isn't as clear. For now, however, it seems reasonable to believe all the pieces already in place for the 2012 season will remain there.
