Torrey Smith Now A Threat On More Than Just The Deep Routes
(8/2 5:53 PT)

The Facts:
GM Ozzie Newsome started rebuilding the receiving corps last season by drafting Smith, who has exceptional speed and was very good on deep routes. Now, he has worked on his short routes and crossing patterns, and he is a threat on all routes.  Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That's bad news for opposing defenses and it falls into line with what we've been hearing all offseason, During a recent appearance with the FootballDiehards on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio, WNST's Glenn Clark made a very strong case for believing this will be Smith's breakout year. Now ESPN's John Clayton is doing the same. Clayton believes the addition of another deep threat, Jacoby Jones, will benefit Joe Flacco, Smith and the passing attack in general. We agree. It could also make Anquan Boldin more productive by allowing him to take a more complementary role rather than asking him to be the top threat. Bottom line? Smith is a player on the rise.
