The salary drop for Heap is likely reflective of a diminished role this year as Rob Housler looks set to exploit his physical talent within the context of the offense. Had Heap not agreed to the salary cut, it's reasonable to wonder if he would have remained a Cardinal for this season. Heap had 24 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown last season while splitting time with Housler and Jeff King at tight end. He played in just 10 games because of injuries and has missed nine games over the last two seasons.
