An MRI today confirmed that Fannin tore his Achilles tendon in practice yesterday and that he will miss the 2012 season.

This comes on the heels for Fannin of a 2011 season that he lost to an ACL injury at just about this point in the year. An intriguing player due to his size/speed combination, he has yet to see the field so that his football skills can be utilized. His loss for the year helps ensure that Ronnie Hillman will be the primary change-of-pace back with a chance to expand that role for himself as the season goes on.
