The Facts:
Peterson won't play in the preseason, but he is being eased back into practice this week, and the early signs are encouraging. Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press tweeted that Peterson experienced no swelling in his knee after taking 18 carries in Monday's practice.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Vikings are slowly increasing Peterson's upper-body contact in drills, Fowler reported, but the non-contact rules established by HC Leslie Frazier remains in effect for every defender on the roster. Meanwhile, NFL.com's Marc Sessler made the most important point here when he wrote: "Minnesota has to be encouraged by Peterson's progress, but -- as Peyton Manning can attest -- people want to see him barrel into a defensive line, turn on the jets, and show some of the speed and elusiveness that made him the premier back of this era. It might be months before we see that, and patience is required. ..." Impressed though we are with Peterson's recovery, we agree that patience will be needed.
