No real surprise here, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Lions have announced that Jahvid Best will open the season on the PUP list.

That means the speedy third-year back will miss at least the first six games this season. Best suffered his third career concussion last October. He still hasn't been cleared. Given the length of time since his last concussion, it's easy to wonder what will happen in another six weeks that hasn't happened in the last 10 months. Right now, we simply wouldn't draft Best.
