The Titans took Britt off the Physically Unable to Perform list late Tuesday, clearing the way for him to practice with the team next week. Unless, of course, the NFL suspends him.

As Nashville Tennessean staffer Jim Wyatt reminded readers, Britt and the Titans are still waiting to hear from the league. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has met with Britt twice in the past year over the fourth-year pro’s run-ins with the law. Britt was placed on PUP at the beginning of training camp in late July. He has been rehabbing both his surgically-repaired knees on a side field while the Titans practiced. Britt had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in June, a month after a second procedure on his right knee in May. Britt suffered a torn right ACL last September in a game against the Broncos. Britt passed a physical on Tuesday and will be added to the active roster on Wednesday. He won’t play in Thursday’s final preseason game against the Saints, however.
