Agent: Any New Contract Must Benefit Brian Griese
(2/17 4:48 PT)

The Facts:
The Bucs, who need to trim as much as $19 million by March 3, are interested in reworking Griese’s contract, which calls for him to have a $7.083 million salary cap value in 2006. However, Griese’s agent, Ralph Cindrich, said on Friday that neither he nor his client were prepared to renegotiate his current deal unless a reworked contract was mutually beneficial in nature.  Reported by PewterReport.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
If they do indeed release Griese in a cap-related move, the Bucs will free up approximately $4.55 million. League rumors have suggested that Detroit and Baltimore could be interested in Griese should he become available.
