Gates left tonight's game briefly in the third quarter with an injured rib. Although the team characterized his return as questionable, Gates was back for the team's next series.

The veteran tight end was leading the team in receiving with three catches for 32 yards when he was hurt. Gates was gang tackled on his last catch as he fought for a first down. ... We'll obviously be following up as further details come to light, but for now Gates will at least be on the field.
