The Facts:
Following up on a
previous item, Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez was spotted leaving the stadium on crutches and sporting a walking boot on his injured right ankle. While X-rays confirmed no Hernandez suffered no broken bones, PFT’s Mike Florio is reporting that Hernandez could miss up to six weeks with a severe sprain.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
We expect Hernandez to have a MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of damage to his right ankle. The dreaded "high-ankle sprain" is a distinct possibility--and it fits within the six-week timetable that Florio reported. New England's offense makes use of a base two-tight end formation with Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski, and Hernandez's absence will undoubtedly put a cramp the team's offensive game plan. Fantasy owners needing to replace Hernandez in their lineups should look to the waiver wire for the following options: Brent Celek (could be available in shallower leagues), Martellus Bennett, Kyle Rudolph, Jared Cook, Scott Chandler, Dennis Pitta, and Heath Miller.
