The Facts:
The San Diego Union Tribune reports that Chargers running back Ryan Mathews will practice on Wednesday and should be ready to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Mathews was cleared for contact last Thursday, but was held out of Week 2 action to give him more first-team practice reps with contact. Mathews broke his clavicle on his first preseason carry—fingers crossed his regular season debut goes off without a hitch.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While Mathews' return will be a huge upgrade to the Chargers offense, his fantasy owners also expect a big return on investment from the talented, yet frustratingly fragile third year back. We'll keep you posted on Mathews' status heading into Week 3, including any potential limits on his workload. For now, fantasy owners should plan to move Mathews from the bench to the active roster this weekend.
