Giants WR Domenik Hixon Sits Out Practice; Doubtful in Week 3
(9/18 2:1 PT)

The Facts:
As with his teammate Ahmad Bradshaw, the New York Giants have not provided an update on wide receiver Domenik Hixon's condition since he exited Sunday's game with a head injury. Hixon sat out Tuesday's practice and with the NFL's stringent concussion protocol, it's expected that he'll miss the team's Week 3 road trip to Carolina.  Reported by New York Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Hixon's won the job as the Giants No. 3 receiver following a solid offseason, training camp and preseason, however he went undrafted in the majority of fantasy leagues or a late-round flier in deeper formats. Look for Ramses Barden and rookie Rueben Randle to rotate No. 3 wideout duties in Thursday's game against the Panthers. Barden was on the field for the majority of snaps after Hixon went down. He's in the final year of his rookie contract, and with four years of experience under Tom Coughlin and Kevin Gilbride, he should be the next man up on the depth chart. Barden will need to make the most of any opportunity that comes his way. He caught a 24-yard pass last Sunday and made it out of the game without getting hurt, something that he's been hard pressed to do over the course of his young career. If Barden stays healthy and catches the balls Manning throws his way, he should be able to line up on the outside in most three wide receiver sets until Hixon returns. 2012 second-round pick Randle saw time handling punt returns during the first two weeks of the regular season.
