The Facts:
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford stained a leg muscle after trying to run down Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner on what turned out to be a 72-yard fumble return for a touchdown. With 1:16 left in the fourth quarter, Verner grabbed the ball out of tight end Brandon Pettigrew's hands and ran it back for a touchdown. Stafford went after Verner but pulled up lame after hurting his right leg. He limped to the sideline. Shaun Hill replaced Stafford and promptly threw two touchdowns passes--one to Calvin Johnson and the other to Titus Young, to tie the game at 41-41 as time expired. The Titans won 44-41 on a 26-yard field goal by Rob Bironas in overtime.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
It doesn't appear that Stafford's injury is all that serious, and with the team down 41-27, the Lions' brass probably didn't want to take unnecessary chances by putting him back in the game. We'll keep you posted on Stafford's condition as more information becomes available. If Stafford were to miss any time, Shaun Hill has shown himself to be a more than capable fill in.
