The Facts:
In an interview with WBBM-AM 780, Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said the team is "hopeful" running back Matt Forte will play in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. "He made a lot of progress last week, and we have an extra day also so that should help," Smith said. "We're just hopeful that he'll be able to go. If not, our running backs, not only Michael Bush, but Kahlil Bell and Armando Allen all did a good job. But we hope we'll get our stud running back back."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Forte is one of several injured running backs that seem to be recovering ahead of schedule. We'll continue to monitor his status during the week, especially his participation in practice. If he practices late in the week, then it's more likely he'll be active on Monday night. When Forte returns, we expect the Bears to use Michael Bush in short-yardage situations and as the goal-line back. His fantasy value reverts to a flex option with Forte back in the lineup.
