The Facts:
The Seattle Seahawks passing game has been largely ineffective through four games and head coach Pete Carroll's decision to name rookie quarterback Russell Wilson the starter over Matt Flynn is being heavily scrutinized. In an interview with ESPN Seattle's "Brock and Salk" on Monday, Carroll said the team will stay the course with Wilson despite his early-season struggles. He went on to say that even if the team wanted to make a change, backup Matt Flynn is dealing with a lingering elbow injury and "is still not at full speed." Carroll said "I know when Matt plays he's going to do well and when he gets his chance he's going to do a good job for us. That's all he's done as we've seen him. We have a good alternative if we need it. Right now we're staying with Wilson. We want to see if we can keep moving ahead and make good growth, see good growth, and get these wins."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Unless you're in an IDP fantasy football or use the Seahawks D/ST, Marshawn Lynch is the only Seattle offensive skill position player that you can trust to put in your fantasy lineup. Last week Carroll admitted to "holding a lid" on the passing game, which downgrades the potential fantasy value of Wilson along with every Seahawk wide receiver. Matt Flynn's status is also a bit confusing. While he has not appeared on an injury report since the start of the regular season, the elbow issue is apparently serious enough to prevent him from practicing in full.
