The Facts:
Johnny Unitas' record of 47 straight games with at least one touchdown pass stood for 52 years. With 2:58 left in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees connected with Devery Henderson on a 40-yard bomb and in the process set a new NFL record. His record-breaking touchdown pass was the 115th scoring throw during the span of the 48-game streak. Joe Unitas, Johnny's son, suspended Saints coach Sean Payton, General Manager Mickey Loomis and linebackers coach Joe Vitt were among those in attendance to watch Brees set the record. Brees last game without a touchdown pass was on Oct. 4, 2009 in a 24-10 win over the New York Jets in the Superdome.
