Update: Bears WR Jeffery will miss 4-6 weeks
(10/9 1:33 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item, Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been diagnosed with a fractured hand. While he will not need surgery, Jeffery is expected to miss four to six weeks. Jeffery has 14 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns through five games. Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Although Jeffery wasn't producing to the level of an every week fantasy starter, he was building chemistry with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and emerging as a solid No. 2 opposite Brandon Marshall. Best case scenario for Jeffery looks to be a Week 9 return. In the meantime. Fantasy owners can expect to see more from Devin Hester, Earl Bennett and Dane Sanzenbacher. With Marshall bogarting the majority of Cutler's targets, it's hard to trust any of these guys as fantasy starters. If you're in a league that counts return yards, then Hester may be worth a look. A wait-and-see approach may be in order with Chicago on bye in Week 6. We'll keep you posted on Jeffery's status.
