Mike Tomlin says Mendenall & Redman have a chance to play Week 8 versus Redskins
(10/23 1:19 PT)

The Facts:
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that running backs Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) have a chance to play Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Jonathan Dwyer stepped up in Pittsburgh's Week 7 win over the Bengals, carrying the ball 17 times for 122 yards. Consider Mendenhall and Redman questionable for now. Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While we like that Mendenhall and Redman are on the mend, it muddies the waters for fantasy purposes heading into Week 8. We expect the Steelers will use a backfield rotation involving Mendenhall, Redman, and Dwyer, however pinpointing the workload split among the three is a much bigger challenge. Pittsburgh could "ease" Mendenhall and Dwyer into the lineup depending on how healthy each guy is or they could put all three out there and roll with the hot hand. We'll know more when the Steelers return to practice on Wednesday and as the week goes on.
