The Facts:
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will go through a run test Thursday to determine whether or not he has progressed enough to practice Friday. Jennings has been on a rest and rehabilitation plan since he suffered a setback against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. Even if Jennings is able to practice, the Packers could still decide to sit Jennings this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The pass offense is clicking and there is no need to hurry him back and risk another setback.

While Jennings' extended absence has disappointed fantasy owners, most would rather see him return at 100 percent instead of gimpy and ineffective. Jennings has been Aaron Rodgers' go-to receiver since he took over as Green Bay's starting quarterback. We expect the Packers to integrate Jennings back into the offense and that he'll be a fantasy factor when he returns. What that means for James Jones' and Randall Cobb's playing time remains to be seen. Cobb is a movable chess piece who is hard to keep off the field, while Jones is playing the best football of his career. "Greg's obviously been a Pro Bowl player for us and will continue to do so," McCarthy said. "Our quarterback throws to the open player. We run concepts, we move our players around. And that's the beauty of our receiver group that I've talked about time and time again. They give us great flexibility in game planning as far as taking away tendencies of who's in the slot, who's in the 1 spot and so forth." We tend to believe that the Packers will hold Jennings out this week, and possibly until after the team's Week 10 bye. A Jennings return in Week 11 would allow owners to use him in the run up to and including the fantasy playoffs. Check back for an update on Jennings progress later in the week.
