"Mark's our guy" says Jets head coach Rex Ryan
(10/29 9:53 PT)

The Facts:
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said the team's offensive woes don't come down to one man--namely quarterback Mark Sanchez. “If it was one man, that would be easy to do. But it’s not on one person. Sometimes, we’re accurate with the football (and) we drop some passes. Sometimes, the pass might not have been as accurate as we wanted it to be. Then there’s times when our protection let us down.” The team fell to 3-5 after a humiliating 30-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins in front of a home crowd Sunday. Ryan said he'd think about making changes to all positions except quarterback, and shot down the notion that Tim Tebow would replace Sanchez. “If it was one guy, I think it’s easy to say we’d make that change,” Ryan said. “But I think Mark gives us the best chance to win. That’s how I feel. Can Tim be successful? Yeah, absolutely. We’ll look at that as well. But in my opinion, Mark as the starting quarterback gives my football team the best chance to win.” Tebow saw just give offensive snaps versus the Dolphins and only 54 through eight games. Ryan said that the coaching staff would look at how they could use Tebow more effectively in the second half of the season. Reported by the New York Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
After an impressive performance in Week 7 against the New England Patriots, the Jets struggled on both sides of the ball. Sanchez has consistency and turnover issues, however we tend to agree with Ryan, that the team's problems on offense extend way behind the fourth-year signal caller. The fact that Ryan and Co. haven't made the move to replace Sanchez with Tebow under center leads us to believe that they don't think he's the answer either. From a fantasy standpoint, Sanchez remains an inconsistent weekly option. Shonn Greene put together 106 total yards, including a 77 rushing yards on 15 carries—an impressive 5.13 yards per carry against a rather stifling Dolphins run defense. With the team on bye in Week 9, we'll have to wait two weeks to see what, if any, changes the Jets make on offense when the team travels to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
