DMC has a high-ankle sprain; MRI scheduled for Monday
(11/4 10:5 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item, Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 42-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McFadden injured his ankle on his first carry and continued to play on it before aggravating it in the second quarter. He will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the severity of of the injury. McFadden rushed for 17 yards on 17 carries on the day. The Raiders added just five rushing yards to DMC's total, though Carson Palmer hit Mike Goodson and fullback Marcel Reese for a combined 14 receptions for 147 yards and a score.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
McFadden could be looking at a multi-week absence depending on the results of the MRI. He is also a notoriously slow healer, so it could be December before we see him back on the field. We expect Mike Goodson to be a hot waiver wire add heading into Week 10--although Goodson left Sunday's game with an ankle injury in the third quarter and didn't return. Despite the injuries to McFadden and Goodson, second-year back Taiwan Jones was non-factor. Marcel Reese might be worth a look in deep leagues if both McFadden and Goodson miss time. Oakland may also need to look to the free-agent market for help depending on the diagnoses of DMC and Goodson. Check back on Monday for an update on the Raiders backfield situation.
