Mike Alstott Would Like To Return -- If The Price Is Right
(2/24 7:4 PT)

The Facts:
Alstott isn't ready to give up football just yet. The six-time Pro Bowl fullback is ready and willing to play at least another year, but the price must be right. That is the message Alstott's agent delivered to Bucs GM Bruce Allen when the two met over dinner Wednesday night. "Mike would like to play, but the compensation needs to be right," agent Ben Dogra said on the eve of the NFL Scouting Combine.  Reported by the Tampa Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to those who follow the team closely, the Bucs probably would have to offer a contract that pays him no less than what he made in 2005 -- a $1.5 million base salary and $900,000 signing bonus -- for Alstott to return. Much will depend on if/when the league and NFLPA agree to a new collective bargaining agreement. ... Stay tuned. More as developments warrant.
