The Facts:
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was taken to the locker room to have his right shoulder evaluated after he was injured on a sack in the third quarter of Monday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Veteran Byron Leftwich replaced Roethlisberger. The 10-year veteran last saw regular season action on January 2, 2010. Roethlisberger left the stadium and headed for a local Pittsburgh hospital where he had an MRI. While there is no official diagnosis on Big Ben's injury, the Steelers said post-game he has a 'shoulder sprain' while other reports indicate he sustained a non-traditional shoulder separation. He is scheduled for a second MRI and additional tests/evaluation on Tuesday.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Roethlisberger was the fourth quarterback to be knocked out of a Week 10 contest with an injury. He completed 9-of-18 passes (multiple drops by his wideouts) for 84 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 14 yards before the injury. Between injuries and the final week of byes, it'll be a challenge for fantasy owners in many leagues to find a decent starter on the waiver wire. While we wait for an official diagnosis on Big Ben's injury and a timetable for him to return, speculation is that he'll miss at least two to three weeks. Leftwich looked extremely rusty under center, and while a week of practice with the first team might help, fantasy owners have to be concerned about what his presence means to the Steelers' pass attack. We expect Pittsburgh to go more run heavy in Week 11 to take some pressure off Leftwich. Fortunately they go up against a Ravens defense that is soft against the run. Stay turned for more information on Roethlisberger's condition.
