Pats TE Rob Gronkowski out indefinitely with a broken forearm
(11/18 8:11 PT)

The Facts:
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is out indefinitely after breaking his forearm in Sunday's blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts. Gronkowski had seven catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns prior to heading to the locker room with an undisclosed injury late in the fourth quarter. Postgame X-rays confirmed the arm was broken. While there are conflicting reports about when Gronk was injured, and New England refused to comment, ESPN reported it happened on the final extra point of the day, with 3:55 left in the fourth quarter. With few specifics about the injury, it's difficult to project a timeline for Gronkowski's return.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As with the LeSean McCoy situation, we have to ask, why was Gronkowski still in the game late in the fourth quarter of blowout (in this case, a win)? Let's face it, no matter how many offensive weapons the Patriots have, losing Gronkowski for any length of time is a significant blow. Aaron Hernandez has played in just two games since sustaining a high-ankle sprain in Week 2 versus the Arizona Cardinals. He missed his fourth consecutive game Sunday and he isn't a lock to play next week versus the New York Jets. If both Gronkowski and Hernandez are out in Week 12, you're looking at some combination of Daniel Fells, Visanthe Shiancoe and Michael Hoomanawanui at tight end. Can you say major drop off? We'll keep you posted on Gronkowski's situation as more information becomes available.
