Bears' Alshon Jeffery will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday
(11/20 10:50 PT)

The Facts:
Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday and will be out indefinitely. The news comes just two days after Jeffery returned to the field for Monday night's blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Jeffery broke his hand making a touchdown catch on October 7 in Jacksonville and missed four games. He caught two passes for 15 yards before exiting with a knee injury in Week 11.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
We were bummed to learn about Jeffery's surgery because he had potential to be a valuable fantasy contributor in the run up and through the playoffs. Jeffery was a big third-down and red-zone threat for the Jay Cutler and the Bears. We expected him to pick up where he left off before he broke his hand in early October. While there's a chance Jeffery could return in two to four weeks, fantasy owners in redraft or seasonal leagues can safely drop him to free up a roster spot. Cutler will continue to feed the ball to Brandon Marshall, which is great for Marshall owners, however we think Cutler's fantasy value gets a slight downgrade with Jeffery missing in action.
