The Facts:
New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller may or may not have sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's comedy-of-errors filled, 7-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. What's not in dispute is the fact that Keller limped off the field in the second quarter and did not return. He finished the day with two catches for 17 yards. Jeff Cumberland picked up the slack in Keller's absence, with two receptions for 25 and what proved to be the game-winning touchdown. A source close to the Jets told beat writer Rich Cimini that tight end has a high-ankle sprain, while head coach Rex Ryan told reporters Monday that he doesn't think Keller does. Ryan admitted Keller is experiencing swelling in the ankle. The Jets are awaiting the results of an MRI and other tests.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Keller will be an unrestricted free agent heading into 2013, so he's no doubt disappointed that much of this season was lost to injury. He dealt with a lingering hamstring injury that cost him five games and the better part of one other. If it turns out that Keller does indeed have a high-ankle sprain, his season could be over depending on the grade/severity and how quickly he heals. Some players bounce back after two weeks, while others can take up to six or more weeks. We'll wait for official word from the Jets as to Keller's prognosis, however it seems likely that he'll miss a week or two. If you've been rolling with Keller in recent weeks, you can probably go ahead and look for another option to help you in the fantasy playoffs. Jeff Cumberland may not be that guy.
