Denarius Moore benched for performance issues in Raiders loss to the Browns
(12/3 4:53 PT)

The Facts:
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen told reporters that he benched third-year wide receiver Denarius Moore for performance issues in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. Moore and quarterback Carson Palmer haven't been on the same page for the past three weeks or so, with Moore running bad routes and dropping multiple catchable balls. "Yeah, we took him out there at the end," head coach Dennis Allen said. "He dropped a couple balls and we have to make plays when we get those opportunities. Both those guys (referring to Moore and CB Ron Bartell), they understand that. It wasn't from a lack of effort, but we've got to make the plays when we get an opportunity." Three plays after Moore was benched late in the third quarter, Palmer hit Rod Streater on a 64-yard touchdown catch and run. Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Talent, athletic ability and opportunity are terrible things to waste, but that appears to be what's happening with the gifted Moore. He and Palmer showed great chemistry after Moore returned from the hamstring injury that kept him sidelined during most of training camp and the preseason. While we don't know the reasons behind Moore's troubles, we know his numbers have been on a steady decline of late. In what should have been a cupcake matchup versus the New Orleans Saints in Week 11, Moore caught one ball for nine yards. He salvaged an otherwise underwhelming day the following week against the Cincinnati Bengals, with a touchdown on a single 20-yard catch. Moore caught just two of eight targets for 31 yards prior to the benching on Sunday. Until he turns things around, fantasy owners are advised to keep Moore on the bench or cut him loose if you need the roster space. Rod Streater could have deep league sleeper potential if Moore continues to disappoint. The rookie hauled in three passes for 96 yards and the aforementioned score on four targets in Week 13.
