Bears QB Jay Cutler sustains a neck injury in loss to Vikings
(12/9 8:58 PT)

The Facts:
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler sustained a neck injury in the fourth quarter of Week 14's 21-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The injury is believed to have occurred when Cutler was hit hard above the neck by Minnesota defensive end Everson Griffen with 7:38 left. Cutler stayed in the game, throwing nine consecutive passes to drive the Bears the the Vikings' 23-yard line, before back-to-back drops by Devin Hester and Brandon Marshall ended on downs with less than 4:30 left in the game. He completed 22-of-44 passes for 260 yards, a touchdown and a pick-6 interception before exiting with a stiff neck. Backup Jason Campbell replaced Cutler on the next offensive series and threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Marshall to make it a one score game.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While Cutler was sacked only twice, he was on the receiving end of more than a dozen hard hits by the Vikings defense. He'll undergo further evaluation on Monday, although multiple post-game reports indicate the neck injury may be whiplash. We'll keep you posted on Cutler's availability for a Week 15 tilt with NFC North rival Green Bay Packers.
