The Facts:
Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson right leg was sandwiched by two St. Louis Rams defenders when he was tackled on a 2-yard run with 5:26 remaining. A visibly upset Jackson could not put weight on the leg as he was helped off the field by medical staff. He was then transported to the locker room by cart while fans chanted "Freddie. Freddie." After the game, head coach Chan Gailey would only say that the injury did not look good, though he had not talked with trainers about the severity.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Although Jackson's injury occurred with a little over five minutes left in the game, he had an unproductive day, carrying nine times for 14 yards and adding another five catches for 16 yards. Meanwhile backfield teammate C.J. Spiller had fewer touches, but more yards (seven carries, 37 yards, 15-yard catch) than Jackson. Buffalo's lack of success on the ground in what should have been a somewhat favorable matchup against a Rams defense that has given up eight rushing scores over the past five weeks was surprising to save the least. Jackson will undergo a series of tests Monday to determine the nature and severity of his injury. Based on his body language on the sideline and the towel he covered his head with as he was carted off to the locker room, we suspect Jackson thinks his season is over. His availability for Week 15 against the Seattle Seahawks appears in jeopardy. While Spiller owners hope he'll get another shot at being the workhorse back for the Bills, we suggest you keep expectations in check. Tashard Choice anyone? Gailey's "we need to give C.J. more touches" refrain is getting a little old. Less talk, more action. Check back for an update on Jackson's status.
