The Facts:
After having a handful of conversations with Favre over the last few weeks, Mike McCarthy said Friday he's "optimistic" Favre will be back. "I just go by the visit we had and the conversations we've had. They're all positive," McCarthy said. "I have a good feeling about it. I could be wrong, but my personality is that I am an optimistic individual."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In an
ESPN interview on Jan. 29, Favre said he was leaning toward retirement, although he hadn't made up his mind. Some have speculated that the longer Favre waits, the greater his chances are of returning. McCarthy said he's more than happy to give Favre as much time as he wants so he can make the right decision. Favre, however, is due a $3 million roster bonus on March 12, and the Packers would obviously like to know Favre's intentions before they hand over the money.
