The Facts:
Kansas City Chiefs running back got off to a fast start Sunday, shredding Cleveland's defense on the team's first play from scrimmage for an 80-yard touchdown run. He rushed for another 53 yards before briefly leaving the game midway through the second quarter what was announced as a rib injury. Charles received medical attention on the sideline and returned to the game late in the second quarter. He finished the day with 165 yards on 18 carries (9.2 yards-per-carry) and one score.

Charles continues to deliver for fantasy owners who stuck with him through the ups and downs—including an inexplicable lack of playing time early on—of the dynamic running back's 2012 season. He posted his third consecutive 100-plus yard performance, which brings him to 1,220 rushing yards over 13 games with three games left on the schedule. While Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson's return from a multiple ligament knee injury generates the most attention, Charles had also come back strong from a torn ACL that ended his 2011 season after two games. If things fall into place for Charles, he could best his current career-high 1,467 rushing yards achieved in his 2010 breakout season. Charles will have an opportunity to put a dent in the 248 yards he needs to go over that mark in Week 15 when the Chiefs take on the Oakland Raiders. The Broncos' Knowshon Moreno torched Oakland for 167 combo yards and a touchdown on Thursday night. As long as the Chiefs coaching staff doesn't pull any funny business with Charles' playing time, he should have no trouble tearing up the field. We'll keep you posted on any fall out from Charles' rib injury, but in the meantime, consider him a must-start in all formats heading into Week 15.
