Chargers RB Ryan Mathews exits Week 15 vs. Panthers with left shoulder injury
(12/16 4:20 PT)

The Facts:
San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews left Sunday's Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers with a left shoulder injury. After being taken to the locker room for evaluation, the San Diego downgraded him from questionable to doubtful to out in a matter of 15 minutes. Jackie Battle, Curtis Brinkley and Le'Ron McClain will handle backfield duties with Ronnie Brown already ruled out with a hamstring injury.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Mathews struggles with durability continued in Week 15 and his early exit will no doubt leave a bad taste in the mouths of fantasy owners who took a shot with him against a beatable Panthers run D. He rushed for 22 yards and caught three balls for eight yards before injury his shoulder, so while he didn't leave you with a goose egg, you are no doubt frustrated. We'll keep you posted on Mathews status heading into Week 16, however we can't imagine many owners that would trust him in their lineups in their fantasy championship game.
