Bears RB Michael Bush heads to injured reserve with a rib injury
(12/18 2:56 PT)

The Facts:
The Chicago Bears put running back Michael Bush on injured reserve with a rib injury and re-signed Kahlil Bell to back up Matt Forte. Bush has been dealing with cartilage damage in his ribs. He dressed for Sunday's Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers but didn't play a down, and was on the field for two snaps in Week 14. Bush finished the year with 114 carries for 411 yards and five touchdowns.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Fantasy owners were disappointed when Bush signed with the Bears in the offseason as the backup to Forte rather than land a starting gig with another team. Bush filled in for Forte when Chicago's lead back missed Week 3 with an ankle sprain. With Bush hurting from the rib injury, Forte was unable to convert three goal-line opportunities last Sunday against the Packers. We expect Bush will return to Chicago in 2013. In the meantime, if you're in the market for a waiver wire savior heading into Week 16, don't hesitate to cut Bush loose.
