Irregular heartbeat sidelines Texans RB Arian Foster in Week 16 loss to Vikings
(12/23 10:29 PT)

The Facts:
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster experienced an irregular heartbeat in Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He exited the game with nine minutes left in the third quarter and was replaced by Ben Tate. Foster had 10 carries for 15 yards along with two catches for 14 yards and a fumble. Doctors gave Foster the okay to return late in the contest, however head coach Gary Kubiak decided to hold Foster out. Kubiak said Foster suffered the problem once before in practice. Foster is expected to play in the team's Week 17 showdown with the Indianapolis Colts.  Reported by Allie Fontana on Twitter

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While there's never a good time for a medical situation, the usually reliable Foster came up microscopically small for fantasy owners who locked their first-round draft pick into their starting lineups with confidence during the fantasy equivalent of Super Bowl Sunday. Owners in PPR leagues avoided the goose egg, while non-PPR owners weren't so lucky. Foster's disappointing performance was a difference-maker in many head-to-head battles and a bitter pill for his fantasy owners to swallow.
