Optimistic Lewis Says Carson Palmer Doing Well
(2/25 10:50 PT)

The Facts:
Marvin Lewis told reports on Friday that Palmer is progressing well in his rehab following knee surgery. "His rehab is going along fine," the coach said. "'On pace' means ready to go in six to seven months. But we're not going to have to wait for six months to know how he's doing." Palmer is working back from torn a ACL and MCL in his left knee, suffered in the playoff loss Jan. 8 to Pittsburgh. Reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Asked what he expects from Palmer when he returns, Lewis said: "For him to pick up where he left off. He doesn't play running back, wide receiver or cornerback. This is a guy who is a quarterback, and his injury wasn't as significant as some of the injuries that occurred around the league this year with that. ... I believe he'll be fine when we open up the '06 season." Sounds good, but it remains to be seen how realistic it is.
