The Facts:
Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte injured his right ankle for the third time this season in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Forte helped Chicago snap a three-game losing streak, rushing for 88 yards and a touchdown before he being forced out by the balky ankle in the third quarter. Kahlil Bell replaced Forte and carried 13 times for 32 yards. Forte was sporting a walking boot after the game and told reporters that he plans to play in a crucial, must-win matchup with the Detroit Lions in Week 17. If the Bears beat the Lions and the Minnesota Vikings lose to the Green Bay Packers, then Chicago clinches the sixth NFC playoff spot.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Forte's fantasy owners with leagues still going in Week 17 are advised to monitor the gimpy-ankled running back's status throughout the week. Assuming the injury isn't too serious, Chicago will likely hold him out of practice until later in the week. Owners in deep leagues may want to grab Bell as insurance in case Forte's injury is serious or he suffers a setback during the pregame warmup. Check back for an update on Forte's status in Week 17.
