49ers WR Mario Manningham tears ACL & PCL; done for the season
(12/25 2:33 PT)

The Facts:
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL)in Sunday's 42-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Manningham will undergo season-ending knee surgery to repair the damage. Despite missing three games, into the last two with a shoulder injury, Manningham was the team's second leading receiver through Week 15 with 42 catches for 449 yards and a touchdown.  Reported by CSNBayArea.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The 49ers made offseason moves to boost their receiving corps that included the free-agent signings of Manningham and Randy Moss. The team also drafted rookie A.J. Jenkins in the first round last April. Manningham joins Kyle Williams on injured reserve, and Vernon Davis must be cleared to play after suffering a concussion in the first quarter against Seattle. Expect Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss and tight end Delanie Walker to pick up some extra targets with Manningham done for the season. Jenkins could also get an opportunity to play in Week 17. An ACL/PCL tear this late in the season could potentially put Manningham's 2013 season--or at least the early part of it--in jeopardy.
